The process of archiving photos or videos on Instagram is easy. However, you may want to know how to reverse and de-archive Instagram posts, as it’s different.

5 Steps to Unarchive an Instagram Post

The Archive feature lets you block the content you want to hide from your feed. It is necessary to choose the post you wish to conceal, tap the three dots beside the post, and select the option to Archive. Here are the steps you must follow to have the same post show up on your profile.

#1. Touch the lines that appear on the profile.

It’s where you will see all of your videos, images, and saved posts. (It’s the circle icon on the right side of the screen, with your profile image there). You can see the three horizontal lines on the right-hand side that you must tap.

#2. Go to ‘Archive.’

When you tap to open the menu, you’ll get seven choices. Select the one that reads “Archive” right below the section ‘Settings.

#3. Choose “Posts Archive in the top menu.

A new tap shows all of your posts from the past. If you don’t, you can tap the three dots in the upper-right corner and change it to ‘Posts Archive.’

#4. Tap the post you want to delete.

It is recommended to scroll through the feed to locate the hidden image or image you wish to make appear again in your feed, then tap it.

#5. Select ‘Show on Profile After tapping on the three dots.

There’s a three-dot option on the right side of all your posts that you have archived. Click it, and then select “Show on profile. The picture or video will reappear on your feed within just a few minutes.

What Your Post Looks Like After You Unarchive Instagram

A few users are worried about the consequences of deleting an Instagram post. Instagram. They want to know what appears on their feed and how it is displayed to the rest of their users. If this is the case, this is the information you’ll be aware of.

Comments and likes remain the same.

Removing archived Instagram posts will not impact their performance. Thus, users will receive the same amount of comments and likes. But, it’s less likely that your content will appear on the Explore page.

There’s no limit to time.

You can make your posts private up to the length would like. You’ll always have the option of removing them from the Archive.

You can unarchive deleted posts, too.

Instagram saves your content for at least 30 days within the ” Recently Deleted section. If you accidentally delete an archived story or post, go into Settings > Account > Recently deleted. You can tap the following (three dots) and choose to Restore the original content.

How to Unarchive Instagram Story?

To view your archives of Stories, visit your profile. Tap the menu and choose the option ‘Archive. You’ll be able to see the list of the previously published content. If you’re not seeing your Stories Tap the three dots on the right-hand side and change it to show Stories Archive.’

From here, you’ll need to locate the post you’d like to repost. You can use the app’s three filters, sorting by date, location, or display.

Click on the Story you wish to delete, then click the Share button on the right side of your screen. You’ll be able to share the Story with your closest friends or send it directly to a specific user.

Tips: Press on an archived Story, then swipe it up to save it as a Highlight.

You probably erased your Story before it was due to expire.

Instagram will not save your Stories even if you remove them before they disappear in a sequence. It is best to backup your content before deleting it. You won’t have to use an archive function to retrieve it.

Your privacy settings may not allow archived content.

Log into your profile and click settings > privacy > story. Save Story to Archive. Make sure the option is turned on. If not, no videos will be included in your Archive section.

What will happen when you remove the Story?

Instagram will automatically add the date stamp to your Story that is not archived. It will show the date that you shared the video. However, you can hold and tap it to drag it into the recycle bin and then erase it. Apart from that, your content will reappear the same way you had it posted initially.

Notably, unlike the unarchiving Instagram posts, the followers of your account will be notified whenever you publish your old Story. (They’ll notice the color red or green over your profile photo).

Archive/Unarchive Instagram Live Broadcasts

Log into your profile, select to open the menu (three horizontal lines), select Archive, and make sure the stop switch is set to “Live Archive. If not, tap the three dots menu and change the settings. You will see your live streams from the last 30 days in the new window. Select the stream you wish to archive and publish. Click the Share button located on the right side of your screen.

The app will ask you to include an image title and cover. You can add this to the feed after providing the necessary information.
